Gibbs is a Senior Partner at the firm in charge of the litigation department.
He has a vast experience of over 20 years in civil and commercial litigation with an emphasis on high value commercial and property disputes.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Makerere University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre.
Gibbs is currently serving as the Chancellor/Legal Counsel North Kigezi Diocese of the Church of Uganda.
He is a member of the Uganda and East African Law Societies
Gibbs’ experience includes:
Acting for and representing DON (U) Ltd, a leading Petroleum and Energy Company on regulatory and compliance matters;
- Successfully represented former employees of the Uganda Police Force in a dispute for unlawful termination worth UGX. 2.8 billion;
- Argued a land mark case in the Court of Appeal of Uganda that saw the Local Council Courts disbanded;
- Represented claimants in the Commercial Court where the Court set aside arbitration proceedings arising out of a construction contract;
- Acting for the Church of Uganda in regulatory and compliance matters.
